MEASURE A SCREW

DIAMETER OF THE SCREW

The diameter of a screw is the diameter of the threaded part, expressed in
millimeters.

LENGTH OF THE SCREW

For a screw whose head is generally above the surface, the measurement is taken under the head and ends at end of the threaded part.

For a countersunk head screw whose head is flush with the surface, the measurement is taken with the head and ends at the end of the part threaded.

In our example, a 6x35 screw is a screw with 6mm diameter and 35 mm length.
