A little history

• Early 1970s: Husqvarna cross and enduro motorcycles enjoyed great success in both competition and export. This is how they “invade” the American market thanks to their high power, their low weight and their reliability compared to the English machines with 4-stroke engines used until now, mainly Triumph 650s. Malcom Smith and the actor Steve McQueen themselves will use the legendary 400 cc model in Baja 1000 desert races.

• 1987: Swedish manufacturing ends, Italian Cagiva takes over production and development of Husqvarna motorcycles. Which ends 84 years of Swedish motorcycle history...

• 2007: German BMW buys Husqvarna from the Italian group MV Agusta.

• 2013: BMW sells Husqvarna to KTM.
